I rarely explain the inspiration for an image as I prefer the viewer to give an image their own meaning, but since I had to give explaination for the final round of judging for Landscape photographter of the year 2011, here goes. The title of this image (Don’t Tell The Tree’s) refers to a song (Whispering Grass) covered by Don Estelle and Windsor Davies back in 75. I was 7 at the time and can remember sitting on my Dads Knee watching It Aint Half Hot Mum, which is where this song version came from. 37 years on it inspired this image. For the younger spectators who don’t know the song, you can watch the video below. In this instance it is the blabbering camera not the trees.
